Our bid will celebrate all this rich cultural heritage, placing it centre-stage. However, we are not preserved in aspic. Far from it. We will also ensure that we are recognised not only for our remarkable past and influence but for our vibrant present and exciting future. The city itself will be the focal point of our bid, with the diverse, multi-cultural borough of Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon and indeed Northern Ireland providing the wider canvas for City of Culture 2025. We have an ancient city, a new town, market towns and villages, a world-class Game of Thrones visitor attraction and our story journeys much further, with over two million people worldwide claiming Armagh heritage.
